October Beauty Favourites

Hi everyone!
Today I thought I would show you some products I have loved during the month of October. I hope you like it!
Batiste Dry Shampoo in Mamba
This month I have been loving the Batiste Dry Shampoo range! Having normal to oily hair, I need a dry shampoo which will refresh and revitalise my hair between washes. Luckily enough this product does exactly that while adding texture and volume! The best thing about the Batiste range is that their products are so affordable and you pick them up from your closest drugstore. My favourite scent is Mamba as it is a light fragrance which is sweet and playful.

Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream
This product is one of my favourites this month! I use this product when I want a light coverage- something which will even-out my imperfections and skin tone but still look very natural. I love this BB cream for school and work as it is light weight and looks like my skin but better- perfect for causal day-to-day wear.

Too Faced La Crème Colour Drenched Lipstick in I Want Candy
I have very dry lips, so it’s difficult for me to find a lipstick formula that is hydrating enough for day-to-day wear. However I think I have found it! If you struggle with dry and chapped lips I highly recommended these products. I am a massive fan of these Too Faced lipsticks and I can’t wait to start growing my collection!
I Want Candy is a bright, glossy Fuchsia colour, perfect for the spring and summer.
Bare Minerals concealer in Well Rested
This powder is a life saver! I use this product as an under eye setting powder and along with my MAC Prolongwear concealer and it works a charm! The product itself is a very fine loose powder which contains SPF 20 and is designed to make you look wide awake and ready for the day ahead. Instantly after applying, this powder diffuses my fine lines while also concealing and brightening my dark under eye circles.
The Maybelline Colossal Volume Express Mascara
This month I rediscovered an old favourite! Having short lashes, a mascara that lengthens is a necessity for me. I love this one as it provides me with the desired length I am after, while also adding tonnes of volume. I especially love this mascara for my bottom lashes if I am after a really intense, smokey look. As this mascara is designed to add volume when applied to my lower lashes they become less sparse and  much more thick and luxurious.

Hydrating & Tinted Benefit Lip balms

Hi everyone! Today I wanted to share with you two lip products I have been loving recently- the hydrating, tinted lip balms from Benefit. Specifically I will review and swatch two of the four balms in the range- Lollibalm and Benebalm.
These balms contain mango butter and sodium hyaluronate, which are designed to hydrate and condition the lips reducing the appearance of fine lines and chapped skin. Although I have to mention that they do not contain SPF, which means for me personally they are not my ideal lip product for extended periods of time outdoors.

Lollibalm is a candy orchid colour with subtle pink undertones which become much more noticeable when applied to the lips.

Benebalm is a red rose colour, which when applied brightens the whole face with a healthy, flush of colour.

Conclusion; These lip balms are perfect for everyday wear- especially school and gym where you don’t need a full-face of makeup. The stunning packaging and fruity scent of these products alone have me hooked and make me think they should belong in a candy store rather than a cosmetics counter. Although these lip balms are sheer coverage, they are build-able and can be easily layered for a more vibrant colour pay off. In saying this people with darker pigmented lips may experience more of a struggle building colour. These lip balms leave my lips looking and feeling hydrated, smooth, tinted and glossy- effortlessly brightening my whole completion in just one simple swipe.

I'd love to know whether you guys would be interested in some makeup tutorials. Comment below some looks you would be interested in seeing and your thoughts on the Benefit lip balms!

MAC Mineralised Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle

Hey everyone! Recently I got my hands on a new highlighter- the gorgeous MAC Mineralised Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle. This highlighter is a 'gilded peach bronze' colour with champagne undertones and gold shimmer, perfect for daytime wear.

When applied to my brow and cheek bones, temples and cupids bow this highlighter completely transforms my face with its prominent youthful glow. Being so highly pigmented, this highlighter is the definition of ‘a little goes a long way,’ and as it is sold in 10g you can only imagine how long it lasts! Despite being so pigmented, this highlighter is super blendable and gives a subtle, natural sheen to the face- minus fallout and flakes of chunky glitter.

Conclusion; This highlighter is well worth the hype! As it’s natural sheen makes it extremely versatile, it can be worn with a range of makeup looks and is perfect for everyday wear. This highlighter never fails to compliment my skin with the radiance of a bright, warm glow.

Face of Australia Lip Quench SPF30+ Lipsticks

Hey guys! Presently I am absolutely loving the Face of Australia Lip Quench SPF30+ moisturising lipsticks in Lychee Crush and Peaches & Cream. These lipsticks are super soft and creamy, enriched with Jojoba Oil, Vitamin E and Shea Butter. They also contain SPF30+ which provides sun protection making them a perfect everyday lipstick.

L-R: Lychee Crush, Peaches and Cream
Lychee Crush is a soft, salmon pink nude colour, and is perfect to wear with a dark, smoky eye or with a natural day-to-day look.
Peaches and Cream (my personal favourite) is a carnation pink colour, which I believe is best worn with simple, feminine eye shadows and blush colours.

Conclusion; These lipsticks are amazing! I love these girly colours as they are wearable with a variety of different looks. I have to mention though, that these lipsticks are not as ‘moisturising and hydrating’ as they are advertised to be. When first applied; the colour Lychee Crush highlighted the cracks and lines in my lips- very unflattering. Although surprisingly the colour Peaches and Cream in comparison had an entirely opposite effect! These lipsticks are around $10 each (at Priceline- an Australian Pharmacy) and for this affordable price, they aren’t expected to be a ‘perfect’ lip product!

Please comment below! I’d love to know your thoughts on the Face of Australia Lip Quench line!

St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse in Dark

Hi everyone!

Recently I have purchased the St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse in Dark from Priceline (an Australian Pharmacy) and was extremely impressed with the results. In store I was torn between purchasing the bronzing mousse in light for a sun-kissed glow or dark for a deep, rich tan. When wearing a fake tan I want it to look effortless and natural, and for this reason I was concerned about buying the mousse in dark. I was influenced to buy the self-tanner in dark however seen as it claimed on the back of the bottle that it, ‘ensures your tan is tailored to your individual skin tone’.

After exfoliating and moisturizing, I applied the mousse using the St. Tropez tanning mitt (around $10 from Priceline). I followed the recommendations found on the St. Tropez website and youtube channel of 4 pumps per leg, 2 pumps per arm and 5 pumps for body. Once I washed off the guide colour the next morning I found that my tan was still very dark, particularly on my hands and feet which was extremely disappointing as my tan looked far from natural. Although the second time I used the self-tanner I loved it! When applying the mousse the second time round I decided to use it sparingly, using only 3 pumps per leg, 2 pumps per body (1 for my stomach and upper body and 1 for all over my back) and 1 pump per arm. As for my hands and feet I used the Dove summer glow lotion for normal to dark skin. I knew that this self-tanner would blend nicely with my St. Tropez as it is a few shades lighter in colour and naturally your hands and feet are somewhat lighter than the rest of your body. After washing off the guide colour the next day I was left with the perfect natural colour I was after and a flawless looking tan, which lasted for around 5 days.

I believe that this self-tanner is extremely good and I’d recommended it to anyone ranging from a beginner (like me haha!) to a professional! Personally I was influenced to purchase this product from a number of youtubers, and by doing my research! The great thing about this self-tanner is that it uses green tones, which prevents that orange effect you get with most fake tans on the market. I was a little hesitant over making the purchase, as it was so expensive and therefore I waited around until it was on sale for around $45. I haven’t tried many fake tans at all really, so I cannot say that it was ‘well worth the money’ due to the fact that I cannot compare it to many others. I’m sure though that you could buy the same quality product for a cheaper price, so I will keep you guys updated on what I find! However I can see why the St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse is so highly esteemed by many people, and I will definitely be purchasing again!
